Introduction to Lumber Sorter Control Systems
Lumber sorters are large machines that sort the lumber cut in modern sawmills. I have been designing and writing control programs for these machines since about 1978. The first systems I worked with used a Computer Automation LSI-2 mini-computer with 64K bytes of magnetic core memory. There are still a few of these old systems running.
